INTRODUCTION
At Highland High School, scholarships become available from individuals, corporations, local businesses and organizations, and universities. Many of these scholarships can be used at universities, community colleges, or technical schools. Scholarships are advertised mainly in the Scholarship Book in the counseling office and on the daily announcements. New scholarships are received throughout the year. Students need to:
Request and complete a scholarship application.
PROCESS
Pull out the Scholarship Book from the Scholarship Drawer. Look at scholarship cover sheets and applications. Note the following:
Request an application by completing a Scholarship Request Form located in the Scholarship Drawer. Your own application will be delivered to you within a few days.
Complete the
application. Follow directions EXACTLY as they are
stated.
THIS IS CRITICAL!!!!
Turn in the completed application on or before the due date.
Were you selected for the scholarship? If yes, congratulations and good job! If not, why not?
Did you follow directions?
Did you have all of the sections completed including transcripts and letters of recommendation if requested?
Were you the right candidate for this scholarship? See your counselor for help in scholarship selection.
Applying for scholarships will take time and commitment. If you are serious about being a successful scholarship candidate, follow the guidelines listed above.
Scholarships are also available directly from universities. Search the websites for schools you are interested in attending.
